BUSINESS ADVOCACY
At WHCC, we champion the interests of our business community, engaging actively in government and political action to ensure a thriving local economy.
Our Governmental Affairs Committee (GAC) plays a pivotal role in this mission. Comprised of dedicated Chamber Members, the GAC meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. via Zoom. This proactive committee addresses governmental and legislative issues pertinent to the business community, informing our members about impactful laws and taking decisive stands on issues that influence business health.
Additionally, the GAC supports Chamber Members by addressing specific business development challenges and issues. Our robust relationship with the City is built on mutual respect, with a steadfast commitment to advocate for the business community’s needs.

Your Chamber is constantly working “behind the scenes” for your benefit, keeping an eye on “job killer” legislation, requesting modifications or completely opposing those that we think will make doing business harder for you. We also look for legislation that will help your business grow and support those bills. By sending letters, making phone calls, educating the public and our members on the effects of these bills and donating money to “pro-business” candidates, we impact your ability to do business here.
Additionally, the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce CEO serves on the board of the Westside Council of Chambers (WC3), comprised of 13 Chambers from Hollywood to Malibu to LAX Coastal. These Chambers collectively take positions on legislation which affects business and industries on the Westside of Los Angeles and which is appropriate to the adopted Policy Pillars. She also serves as a board member for BizFed, an alliance of business networks, and is the co-chair of the Advocacy Committee.
