Economic Development

The City of West Hollywood’s Economic Development Department includes the Arts, Business Development, and Property Development Divisions. Through the Economic Development Department, the City works to support a creative economy that attracts and retains thriving businesses, to program a diverse portfolio of leading-edge arts and culture programs that engage and enrich the lives of residents and visitors, and to advance the City’s real estate portfolio in innovative ways.

Divisions

Arts Division
West Hollywood, as a creative city, has a plethora of programs and projects to encourage art and artists to flourish within the city.


From the WeHo Pride LGBTQ Arts Festival, economic initiatives like the Arts Grant Program and  Mural Program, to opportunities to exhibit at the Laurel House and the Library, WeHo is for artists!

Business Development Division
Whether you want to open a business, expand an existing business, you are considering a development project or you are a broker representing properties in our City, West Hollywood city staff and the Chamber of Commerce are available to assist you and your company through its business planning process.

Property Development Division

The Property Development Division (PDD) oversees large municipal residential and commercial projects; developing and managing the City’s real estate portfolio through strategic real property acquisition and disposition; and managing complex joint development projects. The PDD team also manages the Affordable Housing Trust Fund, which provides acquisition, construction and permanent financing for the development and preservation of affordable rental housing in the City and collaborates with the Rent Stabilization Division to oversee the City’s inclusionary housing program.
