GOALS

There are three overarching goals of the Foundation. Any program or activity developed, sponsored, or promoted by WHSBF is in service of one or more of these mission-driven foundational pillars:

OPPORTUNITY: Develop and link small businesses to opportunities in West Hollywood through the implementation of programs such as the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Initiative.

MENTORSHIP: Promote peer-to-peer mentorship, networking, technical assistance, business development, and resilient resources to remove barriers to increase access for small businesses thus helping them to open, scale, and innovate through programs like West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce's Small Business Seminars.

LEADERSHIP: Cultivate entrepreneurial and civic leadership through our WeLead Academy to position small business entrepreneurs to serve on public and private decision-making bodies and advocate for meaningful policy changes that positively impact the development and growth of small businesses.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To provide critical learning opportunities, mentoring, connections, business development programs, marketing platforms and access to capital for minority entrepreneurs and small business owners.
  2. Obtain Grants and pursue partnership opportunities.
  3. Develop programs that focus on education, career development, and small business.
  4. Develop platforms for minority groups to connect to mentoring, training, and networking opportunities for business.
  5. Procurement opportunities for minority businesses
  6. Employment opportunities for minority businesses
  7. Funding for research and development, licensing, educational workshops, and access to capital funding for WHCC’s Small Business Initiative
