Center City

Center City, the most populous neighborhood in West Hollywood, embodies a captivating blend of history and modernity. Occupying the region south of Sunset Boulevard, between La Cienega and Fairfax, and stretching from Waring Avenue to the city's southern border (marked by Willoughby Avenue or Romaine Street), this vibrant area is home to approximately a fifth of the city's 34,000 residents. Dotted with architectural gems, including historic apartment buildings like La Fontaine, El Mirador, and Villa Italia from the 1920s and 1930s, Center City exudes a timeless charm. The neighborhood features a diverse landscape, with a mix of condominiums, smaller apartment buildings, single-family homes, and duplexes, creating a rich tapestry of housing options. Residents often revel in the area's beautiful architecture, ranging from Spanish Colonial Revival to mid-century modern styles. Center City offers a unique glimpse into Hollywood's past, reminiscent of the '30s and '40s. Bars like Employees Only and The Surly Goat offer old-school sophistication updated for the modern age. Beyond its architectural allure, Center City fosters a strong sense of community, with neighborly connections formed while walking dogs or frequenting local spots like Gelson's. Additionally, the neighborhood boasts three parks—Kings Road Park, Laurel Park, and Hart Park—adding to its appeal as a well-rounded and inviting community within West Hollywood.
