Can you please take 60 seconds TODAY and call Assemblymember Bloom’s Sacramento Office at (916) 319-2050 & urge him to vote YES on SB 905 to allow West Hollywood to decide on its own Last Call rules.
Local Control of Last Call – took a crucial step forward on Thursday when it was pulled from the Suspense File and passed out of the Assembly Appropriations Committee.
You may recall that a similar bill last year essentially died in the Assembly Appropriations Committee. This year two delegations from the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce met with staff members of Assemblymember Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher, Chair of the Assembly Appropriations Committee – once in the Capitol in Sacramento and once in her District Office in San Diego.
SB 905 now goes to the Assembly Floor where it must pass in the next two weeks to go to Governor Brown for his signature. Our representative – Assemblymember Richard Bloom - - has not yet announced if he will vote YES or NO on SB 905.
We fully expect the opponents of SB 905 to bombard Assemblymember Bloom with false information on the dangers of allowing communities to craft their own Last Call rules. It’s vital that West Hollywood’s representative in the State Assembly knows we strongly SUPPORT SB 905.
Please make your call now!
