
Kelly Osbourne, LisaRaye McCoy, Chaz Dean among others helped raise funds and awareness for Sexual & Domestic Abuse in the LGBT Community
Los Angeles, CA, October 6, 2016 - Television personality, Kelly Osbourne hosted the annual Breaking the Silence Awards presented by the I Love Me Foundation in West Hollywood at the Andaz Hyatt Hotel on Thursday, September 29, 2016. Hair Guru, Chaz Dean along with Fred & Mark Anawalt, co-owners of Anawalt Lumber served as the event co-chairs.
The Breaking the Silence Awards recognizes corporations and leaders who use their platform of influence to advocate for Sexual & Domestic Abuse awareness as well as fair inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and non-gender conforming community and the issues that affect their lives.
Breaking the Silence Award Honorees included: Jasmine Lester, who was the recipient of the Voice of Courage Award, Emmy Award Journalist, Shaun Robinson who was the recipient of the Ally for Equality Award, Aaron Steed, who received the Purple Heart Award, and Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) who were the recipients of the Community Engagement Award.
Event Co-Chair Celebrity Hairstylist, Chaz Dean among several celebs & special guest were in attendance showing their support for the cause. LisaRaye McCoy (VH1's Single Ladies), Simone Smith (Jewelry Designer & Wife of LL Cool J), Darryl Stephens (Logo's Noah's Arc), James Anderson (Ex-NFL Dallas Cowboy Player), AzMarie Livingston (Fox's Empire), Mercedes "MJ" Javid (Bravo's Shahs of Sunset), Mike Shouhed (Bravo's Shahs of Sunset) Karamo Brown (TV Host & Personality)
Andrew Christian (Boutique Owner) Lena Waithe (Netflix's Master of None), Brian Justin Crum (America's Got Talent), Bruce Vilanch (Comedic Writer), Charles Koontz (CBS CSI:Cyber), Chris Classen (LA Pride/CSW President), Abbe Land (LGBT Activist) were all on hand.
During the evening reception, guests were entertained by the beats of DJ Cara Monday as they sipped wine & champagne provided by spirit sponsor Barefoot Wine & Bubbly. Wen by Chaz Dean served as the event title sponsors. Breaking the Silence Awards also garnered support from Anawalt Lumber, Samini Law, Scholars Strategy Network,Walgreens, Froozer, and The Garvey Group.
