The Southwest Los Angeles County Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
assists entrepreneurs who are considering starting their own business.
The SBDC program is a partnership between the U.S. Small Business
Administration (SBA), California Trade & Commerce Agency, the
Chancellor's Office of Community Colleges and local organizations such
as Chambers of Commerce, cities and banks that support the Agency's
mandate to promote business development, job creation and retention.
The Center offers free individualized counseling with professional
consultants. A client may be seen only once or on a continual basis
depending on the situation. Workshops are offered on a variety of
business topics.
The Center is also an intermediary for the SBA Pre-Qualification Loan
Program where they assist both start-up and existing businesses access
capital. There is also a library at the Center offering reference books,
directories and "How To" manuals and videos.
